I know this area well. Besides being posted at the San Clemente church after I was first ordained (1973-74), I walked this beach often in 1968 when I dated a girl who lived here. Now Sherri and I go there several times a year. The Fisherman's Restaurant at the beginning of the pier is wonderful!
