California Poppies: Antelope Valley

The California Poppies are out in full bloom on the hillsides of Antelope Valley right now, as long as you come at the right time. The poppies close up at night and don't open again until around 9 or 10 am, when the full color slowly spreads across the hillsides. It's amazing to see the gradual spread of color as the flowers open. This photo was taken near my last Desert Bloom photo.
