The lighting was perfect, and this Broad-Billed Hummingbird sat still for an unusually long time (at least a minute). Fortunately, I had my 300mm f/4 lens with 1.4x extender attached to my camera and ready to go. I took this photo at the Fanciful Flyers walk-in exhibit at The Living Desert wildlife & botanical park near Palm Springs, CA. This is one of my favorites. They're quite common around Tucson.

Beautiful! Only in this western hemisphere do we have hummers. The flowerpeckers and sunbirds and spider-eaters looked similar back "home". Proud of you!
