This is the Champagne Pool at Wai-O-Tapu (which means Sacred Waters), the most colorful geothermal area that we saw while exploring the volcanic features of Rotorua, New Zealand. The colors in some of the hot pools looked unreal, as if something you'd see on Mars or some other part of the galaxy. What you can't see in the photo is the sulfur smell that would engulf us whenever the wind blew the steam our direction.
