The Buddhist pagoda in the foreground contrasts with the LA city skyline in the distance in this photo taken last night from the hiking/biking trails above Turnbull Canyon in Whittier. Apparently this pagoda, built on the highest point of Rose Hills Memorial Park, is the largest in the US. I took this as Brian and I hiked across the hills and down to Rio Hondo Community College. |

Very nice. I always envision a shot like this when I hike Turnbull, but I have never gotten it. Great job!

Thanks, Andy & Aaron. As is often the case, it was mostly a matter of being at the right place at the right time. Though I can't say that I really planned that.
