I believe this is a green-winged teal. The birders out there can correct me if I'm wrong. I took this photo a while back at the Newport Backbay, not too far off from the paved bike trail.

What an unusual position! I'm sure not that odd among birds but the color harmony, sharpness and reflections make this image.
